Sorry, not yet translated! Thomas wrote: - surrounding Cape Brewster through open water is impossible. The Roma-glacier - natives advised against this way - too many crevasses! The last remaining passage - I know it sounds crazy - has less snow and is for that very difficult to cross. First we had too much of snow on our way to that old, abandoned setlement at Cape Brewster, and then, exploring the last remaining passage, we have to realize, that we needed more snow for it. The outstanding boulders let us hear the dogsled crunching over them. What to do? Take the risk to try that passage or to own up that we caught the wrong year to make the tour by dogsled, as planned originally. Peter and Michael decided, that the risk is too high to do it. If the dogs could follow a track in the snow, we would have dared the passage. But up there, where is no snow, but only ice, we had to lead them ourselves. With whole the weight of the sled and it's length of 15 meters it would have been too risky - we are returning to Constable Pynt. Now the weather is like we can do it quite rapidly and there we can think of other possobilities to reach our destination - Gunnbjoerns Fjell. back...
