The expedition will go on - somehow. Peter and Michael are planning to go to the Gunnbjoerns Fjell with a pulka. Ralf and Thomas will return soon to Germany - this is the plan. Nobody knows, when they will be able to start, because the bad weather forces the team to stay where they are. Now they have time to send us detailed informations and, of course new photos |

28 | -2°C | The team has decided to return to Constable Pynt. They started at 10h in the morning, at 19h they settled up the camp. A long leg of 28 km. The snow is getting harder, temperatures are falling. Short before they settled up the camp, they saw fresh tracks of a polar bear.... not again! We again received a small report which illustrates the reasons for the reversal. |

11 | 18.04.02 | ??? | 0 | 2°C | It seems like the expedition has to give up; because of the warm weather the ice of the fjord is opening, all attempts to surround the fjord failed. There is food enough for approx. 4 more days if they ration it. Today the team had to shoot down an agressive polar bear. The report of that incident is to see here. However, the nutrition problems should be solved - not with a barbecue but by hunters, who are informed and are on their way to get the bear - hopefully they'll bring in some food. The team first will return to Scoresbysund, Peter Hüttel and Michael Hübner are thinking of flying with a Twin-Otter nearby Gunnbjörns Fjell to climb this mountain at least. Transfer of informations and Datas has increased, perhaps it will be intermitted for some days, while the climbers are on their way to the peak. You can be asured that after that we will present high quality pictures and exciting reports. |

10 | 17.04.02 | ??? | 6,5 | ??? | Incidences are overturning; again 1m of fresh snow which makes it hard to walk, especially for the dogs. Again a polar bear which came near up to 50m, only displaced by some shots from a gun. Food gets rare, because the settled depot is out of reach. The team tries to contact a helicopter to bring some food. They are thinking of alternatives to the dogsled, because it's too slow in the deep snow. The team found refuge, partially destroyed by polar bears. So things turned out different to the plans. We will inform you, as soon as we get news. |

4,5 | 0°C | Strong winds and 1m of fresh snow make it hard to go further. After a hard walk of 3,5 hours with only a leg of 4,5km the team has settled early the camp. The level of adrenaline was quiet high, when a polarbear came near by. This neat animals in the zoo are quiet big and dangerous in reality. But they succeeded in displacing the bear. The good news: Thomas, the cameraman, had send us pictures and a report of the first days. |

25,5 | -9°C | Today the team has made a long leg of 9 hours through deep snow and packice. For the exhausting walk on skiers the members had to mobilize their forces. Hopefully they get good sleep despite of the sighted polar bears. For tomorrow they are planning a shorter leg for regenaration. |
